Local Activities & Attractions
|
Diamond Forest Cottages are located in the Pemberton region and are central to most local attractions. We are situated only 12 minutes from Pemberton and 10 minutes from Manjimup. The region offers fine food, wineries, cafes, craft shops, galleries and a host of natural attractions.
We have listed for your information a range of activities available either on our property, or within a short drive - as you can see, there is certainly no shortage of things to do! |
Activities List:
- Explore our 50 acre property. Stroll through the gardens, meander through over 400 lavender plants or follow the trails through our own portion of Karri Forest. There will always be plenty of animals to talk to as you wander the property.
- Make use of our games room and play Air hockey or Foosball, or just relax and watch television on the sofa.
- Trout fishing is available on our lake which is stocked regularly, fishing gear is provided or you are welcome to bring your own. We encourage catch & release but you are welcome to catch & cook your own trout on the BBQ at your cottage.
- Enjoy watching our abundant bird life. Depending on the time of year you will see Blue Wrens, Parrots, Kookaburras, Variegated Wrens, Black Cockatoos, Scarlet Robins, Black Swans nesting on the neighbours dam, Ducks frolicking on our dam, plus lots more.
- Donnelly River Cruises - Enjoy a relaxed cruise from the Karri to the Coast. Cruise along a 12km section of the Donnelly River thru a diverse ecosystem that is only accessible by boat.
- Pemberton Tramway - travel on the tram through the magnificent Karri Forest.
- Be dazzled by the antics of our resident short billed corella named Mel or indeed most of our animals are very entertaining at times.
- Pemberton Timbermill Tours are available Monday to Thursday.
- Spend the day and follow the Karri Forest Explorer Tourist Drive. Just follow the map, tune into the FM radio station and see some of Pemberton's best natural attractions.
- Experience the Diamond State Forest, which is just across the road. There are plenty of walk trails to follow - walk to the Diamond Tree lookout (only a 35 minute walk from your cottage). The Gloucester Tree and The Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree are only a short drive away in Pemberton.
